Book Release Info

I have some exciting news. In case you didn’t see it on Facebook, I’ve officially moved into the editing phase of the conclusion of Sabrina’s story!

Because of this, I can announce I will release Master of My Life in Spring, 2021. Right now it’s looking to be about April.

This date is subject to change, but only to be earlier, not later. The reason for the long editing timeframe is the length of the book. Over 183k words!

I’d originally planned on writing four books for Sabrina’s story, but because of how long it has taken me to finish it, and with feedback from readers, I decided to publish the conclusion as one giant book, instead of two smaller ones.

I hope you’re as excited as I am to move into this new phase and to have a rough date for release.

Keep up to date with all my info: https://www.subscribepage.com/masterofmylife

Hey There!

Hi all,

I'm so humbled by the warm reception I've gotten from my return. It really does my heart good! Love you guys!

I think I've made it through most of my notifications and such. If I've missed anything, please don't hesitate to tag me again. Going back through over seven months of stuff on Facebook is...challenging to say the least!

I'm still re-learning how everything works on Facebook. It's been a while and I'm not posting as much as I used to yet. But I'd love to know, what can I do for you guys? What sorts of things would you like me to post? Any questions you have for me that I can answer? Without my readers, I have little reason to write, so I want to make y'all happy... Well, as happy as I'm able to. LOL.

So, ask questions... make suggestions... 'Cuz sometimes I'm at a loss and know I want to post something, but don't know what!

Hello World!

My dearest readers, oh, how I've missed you!

I know I left rather abruptly this past summer, but so much had happened and was happening I needed to step back and figure out my life. It's been good, but I'm ready to re-engage with the book world again. And, yes, I mean it. I've missed you. Social media just isn't the same without you all.

One thing I wanted to let you know right off the bat, is that paperbacks are now available through Barnes & Noble for the individual Life of Anna books. (Be careful which ones you click on at that link. The ones actually from B&N-not the marketplace-are the new paperbacks.) I tried and tried to get the story into one paperback, but it's just not possible. Publishers have a page limit well below how many pages are in The Complete Story, no matter how tiny I make the font. I realize the prices have increased, but this was the best choice I had to get them into paperback. I will not be carrying any stock on my website, but I can offer signed stickers ("bookplates") to place in them once purchased from B&N.

One thing I did while on my break was to take a creative writing class.
I just finished it and found it a lot more fun than I thought it would be. To be honest, I was terrified of taking it, as I'd never taken a formal writing class in my life and didn't know if I could write "on-demand." I learned some new skills I will put into practice and even wrote a SHORT story. I'm contemplating entering it into a short story competition, but am nervous about doing so!  I might publish it on my blog to get some feedback before I do.

Some of you may remember that I volunteered at my sons' school in the music department last school year. I am doing it again this year and am having a blast helping the kiddos learn their instruments. My 4th grader started playing the cello this year, and my 6th grader is still playing the violin. He also started playing with a local youth orchestra in August and is doing really well.  I've even borrowed a violin and am teaching myself to play. I wish I had a French Horn to relearn to play, like I had in high school, but they're out of our budget right now. Oh, well. Maybe if my next books do well, I'll be able to get one!

I'm sure you are all dying to know... What's going on with Sabrina and Chase???
Well, some emotional and spiritual things have happened over the last year and over the last few months, I've gone back and forth whether or not I could finish the series. I didn't know if I had it in me to tackle the story, and I'd started working on something completely different. But about a month ago, I began to think I might be able to finish it and as of now, I'm about two-thirds of the way done with the remaining story. It will likely end up being just one more book, but I won't know for sure until it's done. (I never know what my characters are going to do.) If it's big enough for two books, as originally planned, be assured I will publish them in quick succession. If it's not, the series will end up just being a trilogy. Either way, I will get it finished. After that, though... Well, you'll have to hang around and see.

Anyhoo, I'm very happy to be back. Please give me a bit to go through the messages and posts I've missed over the last several months. I know there are quite a few. And here's an all around thank you for all the birthday wishes in September.
They meant the world to me and though I didn't "officially" get online, I did scroll through and see them.

See you online soon!

Social Media Break

I'm taking a few months off from social media.

After Amazon banned my books, it brought me to a place of some deep soul searching. It made me think. A lot. And the only thing I'm certain of at this point is that I need some more time to think things through. But in order to do that, I need to get away from the many distractions that get to me every day. So, I'm stepping away from Facebook, Twitter, and my other social media accounts for a few months while I figure things out.

You can still contact me through email, Goodreads, or my website.

Thank you for understanding.

Enslaved Banned!!!

After almost four years, and more than 56,000 downloads, Enslaved has been banned from Amazon.

I'm not sure why, because Amazon is not transparent when they do things like this. They just refer you to some vague guideline that gives no helpful information. Several fellow authors have suggested that someone must have complained about it. How else would they be looking at a four-year-old book? Perhaps I should be honored that it was worth their time to complain?

I was planning on pulling Enslaved from Kindle Unlimited next month anyway to make it available at all retailers. I guess I get to do this early.

I'm a bit in shock at this and still trying to get my head wrapped around it. I'm overwhelmed by the love and support shown to me in the Facebook world.

We'll make it through this. I'm not freaking out... Trying to see it as an opportunity instead of a setback. If nothing else, controversy breeds free publicity, right?

The Complete Story is still for sale. I've published Enslaved through Draft2Digital to make it available at iBooks, Nook, Kobo, and other retailers.

I have a suspicion as to what might have been offensive, though it does show that not everyone is a careful reader. Thank God they didn't read the rest of the story, right? They would have DIED of HORROR had they read what happened to Anna in Book 4!

I will make adjustments to those parts (in the prologue) and resubmit to Amazon. So, Amazon will have an adjusted prologue, but the rest will remain the same...at least that's my plan.

In the meantime, if you know of anyone who wants to read The Life of Anna, the complete story is still available on Amazon. myBook.to/LoAComplete

You can also download a free copy (mobi or epub) of Enslaved here: BookHip.com/FRADFL Yes, it will ask for an email address for security purposes, but you will only be added to my newsletter subscription if you check the box. I don't add people to my mailing list without permission.

If you'd like to help out with what I'm calling Enslaved-Gate, give me your email address HERE and I'll let you know how you can help out once I figure a few things out.

In the meantime...

Master of My Heart Excerpt

Who wants to read an excerpt from Master of My Heart???

Sabrina woke next to a man, her head on his bare chest and his arm around her. Without thinking, she trailed her hand down his flat stomach and onto his morning-hard cock. She stroked it a few times over his pants, then slipped under the waistband to feel his silken skin.
As she stroked him, she wondered who she was in bed with. It wasn’t Ramon. It also wasn’t unusual to not know who she was waking up with. It happened plenty of times, and she knew what was expected of her.
He moaned in his sleep. She pushed his pants down below his balls and slipped down under the covers to take his cock into her mouth, sucking on it and stroking it with her hand.
He shifted his body and moaned again. His hand moved to rest on her head and she sucked harder. It usually didn’t take too long in the morning.
It didn’t really matter who Ramon left her with, as long as she pleased him.
She pushed her head down and took more of him into her mouth. He moaned again and grasped her hair in his hands. She continued, taking as much in her mouth as she could. She had been told many times that she was good at sucking cock. She hoped she pleased…whomever this was.
Suddenly, he grabbed her shoulders and pulled her up, rolling her onto her back. He stretched out on top of her and slowly pressed himself inside her.
She cried out softly. He was thick and it felt so good. She kept her eyes closed against the morning light. This man was kind, and she didn’t want reality to ruin the pleasure. His mouth pressed against hers, his tongue demanding entry into her mouth. She parted her lips. A jolt of heat slammed into her lower body.
He wrapped his arms around her back and kissed her, thrusting in and out of her. Oh God, that feels so good! He was gentle, but the thrusts were firm. She matched her movements to his and relished in his thickness that filled her so deeply.
He moaned into her mouth. “You feel incredible,” he whispered, trailing his tongue down her neck. She cried out in pleasure as he sucked on the skin above her collarbone.
His thrusts became more insistent. She moved her hips to give him the most pleasure she could as a thank you for being kind. She felt her own release building and wrapped her arms around him as he groaned. She knew he was close. When he groaned again, she felt him empty himself into her as she came, crying out her own release. Her whole body shuddered with pleasure. She couldn’t help but let out a deep sigh of satisfaction.
His chest heaved, his face buried in her neck. She trailed her fingernails down his back and opened her eyes, still trying to figure out—
Oh no!

Can You Believe It?

http://bit.ly/2Fv1ooUCan you believe we're at the two-week point? This book has been a very long journey. I had no idea it would take me this long to write, let alone the three-month editing process.

But finally! We're back at the doorstep, eagerly awaiting the next stage in Sabrina and Chase's journey.

Are you excited? I know I am!

Maybe it was better that Sabrina was lost to him. She’d been so innocent, so naïve, so young. He had been, too. Back before things changed. Killing people changed you. Even if it was for a good reason, it still changed you. It tainted your soul. Could he ever hope to find a woman who would understand that and not judge him for it? He wasn’t a bad man, he knew that deep down inside, but sometimes he felt like it. His career path wasn’t an easy one. Was it even fair to ask any woman to be a part of his life?
He didn’t have a choice. He had to find someone. Soon. But how could he find someone to marry in four months?

...is how Marissa describes her books when asked. She doesn't seek to write any particular genre, style, or length, only following her gut instincts and the lead of her characters. The Life of Anna crosses many genre lines including erotica, suspense, psychological thriller, horror, political conspiracy, paranormal, and romance. Marissa's story of Anna began with a dream about being kidnapped with Adam Savage from Mythbusters (Yes, really). Over the next year and a half, it morphed into the story that is now known as "The Life of Anna." She has also published Distorted Hope, which is based on her kidnapped dream. Abandoned Grace was published last year as a side story to The Life of Anna.
Marissa stays busy running her household, fending off two adorable kittens, and interacting with her readers on social media.
