Hey There!

Hi all,

I'm so humbled by the warm reception I've gotten from my return. It really does my heart good! Love you guys!

I think I've made it through most of my notifications and such. If I've missed anything, please don't hesitate to tag me again. Going back through over seven months of stuff on Facebook is...challenging to say the least!

I'm still re-learning how everything works on Facebook. It's been a while and I'm not posting as much as I used to yet. But I'd love to know, what can I do for you guys? What sorts of things would you like me to post? Any questions you have for me that I can answer? Without my readers, I have little reason to write, so I want to make y'all happy... Well, as happy as I'm able to. LOL.

So, ask questions... make suggestions... 'Cuz sometimes I'm at a loss and know I want to post something, but don't know what!

New Cover for Master of My Body

Hello Loyal Readers!

I have two pieces of exciting news I wanted to share with you.
First of all, as you already know, Master of My Heart, Finding Sabrina Part 2, is coming out at the end of May. As I was writing and rewriting the book, I came to realize that the beautiful cover I was using really didn't go along with the theme of the story. About that time, I learned that Adobe Stock Photos are not allowed to be used on the cover of romance novels (for some dumb reason). So because of those two things, I've been working with my cover designer to rework my covers and give them a new, more appropriate, dark feel to them.
We just finished the new cover for Master of My Body today and I'm so excited to share it with you here.
books2read.com/FSMOMB
I've also rewritten the blurb, to give it a darker, more suspenseful feel.
I'll be remaking my paperbacks shortly, and if you've already purchased one with the old cover, I will sell you a new one at my cost, plus shipping. When you order the new one, just make sure to leave a note (or message me) that you bought the book previously and I will include the discount price.
My other piece of news is that I will be moving Master of My Body to distribute to all ebook venues, including iBooks, Kobo, and Nook. This will remain in effect until shortly after Master of My Heart releases. The links will be available at this site when soon. I just submitted the book today so it may take a few hours/days.

I hope you like the *new* Master of My Body as much as I do! (Of course, the story hasn't changed. Only the cover and blurb.)

 New Blurb

Two thousand years ago, a great evil was banished from the human realm. Vamar Thilduri would never again be able to possess such great and unearthly power.

Or so it was thought...

After years of preparation, Vamar has returned and his plans are progressing as expected. His tool of choice? A girl who will be the most powerful being in the world.

Sabrina Mansfield has no idea who or what she is. She only knows her life-long dream is to become a professional ballerina. Attending a summer dance camp in Boston is the first of many steps along that path. But everything changes the moment she meets the gaze of a handsome soldier across the stage.

Christopher “Chase” Ralston, a recent graduate of West Point Military Academy, expected to spend his short summer leave visiting with family and friends. Love is the last thing on his mind, but a glimpse of a young woman has him questioning his desire to remain single.

The bond between them is unexpected, and becoming more seems inevitable—until Sabrina returns home to find her world torn apart.

Monsters are real.
Nightmares come true.
And love is nothing more than a dream.

***Expect the unexpected. As soon as you think you know, you have no idea. Triggers are possible. Evil is among us, and there's no telling how far it will take you to get what it wants.***

Master of My Heart is available May 29!

Pre-Orders will be available through iBooks, Nook, and Kobo, but not Amazon. If you plan on ordering through Amazon, sign-up here to get an email reminder on Release Day: http://bit.ly/2Fv1ooU.
Otherwise, the pre-order links will be available here shortly:  https://www.books2read.com/FSMOMH

Update on Master of My Heart

Hey Readers!

I'm thrilled to let you guys know that I've finished the first draft of rewrites of Master of My Heart and have moved into the editing stage. It's running a little over 130k words at the moment, so the editing will take a bit of time since I want to do it right. I'm hoping to have it published (at the latest) by the beginning of summer.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask.

Sabrina Update

Hi Readers!

Many of you enjoyed the beginning of Sabrina's story and have been asking when the next book will be out. Up until a few days ago, I'd been planning on getting it out in the next month or so, but after sending it to my beta readers and receiving their feedback, I realized that I needed to give the whole series an overhaul.

This story has been a struggle to write. Mostly because I haven't listened to my characters as well as I should. While the first book, Master of My Body, was written in 3rd person with viewpoints from Sabrina, Chase, and Vamar, I'd planned on completing the series in 1st person, using only Sabrina's viewpoint.

The whole time I was wondering if I made the right choice. Telling a story from the first person point of view is an intimate and challenging writing method. But it also limits the amount of information that I can convey to the reader because we're seeing the world through only one character's eyes. It was working, and working pretty decently. It probably would have been a good book. But not a great book. I want to write a great book because my characters deserve their full story to be told and you, as a reader, deserve to read a fully developed book.

That being said, after much contemplation, meditation, and honesty with myself and my characters, I've decided to rewrite the entire series in 3rd person and add Chase's viewpoint. I believe that this will lead to a richer reading experience and not leave as many questions unanswered as I had to, simply because of the limitations of 1st person.

What does this mean? It means it will take a little longer for Master of My Heart to be released. I'm only talking a few months, not years, though. Master of My Body stands as is, though. No changes there.

As it stands now, I am planning on a four-part series. The book lengths will be closer to what you got in Anna's story.  MOMH is already over 90k words and will only get longer as I add Chase's viewpoint

I believe with all of my heart that it will be worth the wait and hope you can be understanding and continue to believe in me during the process. I will keep you updated as the story progresses.

Thank you.

Master of My Body

Finding Sabrina, Part One

I am so excited to share the cover for Master of My Body, designed by Laura Hidalgo. I just can't get over how stunning it is!

About Master of My Body:
Sabrina Mansfield is compelled to be a professional ballerina for reasons she can’t explain. Ballet grounds her, completes her like no other activity, and attending dance camp in Boston is more than a dream come true. Her summer is full of amazing experiences, dancing, and laughter.

She didn’t expect to fall in love…

When Christopher “Chase” Ralston graduates at the top of his class from West Point, his only aspiration is to follow in his late father’s footsteps and join the elite Green Berets. He expects to spend his summer leave visiting with family and friends before heading off for training.

Love is the last thing on his mind, but a glimpse of a young woman has him questioning his desire to remain single.

Banished because he dared to become more than human, Vamar Thilduri has been waiting, plotting his revenge against Kronos, the father of the Immortals, for two thousand years.

Nothing and no one will stand in the way of what he wants.

And he wants Sabrina.

Updates

So, I've sent Devin's story to my proofer. Yay! It is well on it's way to being published. I'll be able to give a date in a couple of weeks.

The tentative title is Abandoned Grace and it's ended up being a short story... about 16k words. I hope you're not too disappointed?

Audio Books Update

Hey all,

I've asked for auditions for Anna's story to be turned into an audio book. It's tough because it's a tough book and someone who can do a German accent would be a plus. In the meantime, I think I've found someone who would be great for Kyra's voice in Distorted Hope. I hadn't been planning on doing DH, but this woman has such a great voice, I want to work with her.

I want to keep in touch with y'all and love interacting with you. But I have trouble coming up with ideas of posting things. What would you like to learn/see/read/etc.? Sometimes I think "Noone wants to see more pictures of my cats" but maybe you do? I don't know.

Tell me what you think!

Updates

Hi all,

I realize I haven't posted in a while. Most of you might not know, but I'm engaged and getting married next Thursday, on February 25. So, it's been a bit busy around here. It's a very low-key affair, but still have things to plan and purchase. Think I'm just about ready though. Quite excited.

I wrote a little bit more in Happily... Never, but it's not quite ready to share yet. I will say that He revealed what He looks like and will share soon. Are y'all liking it so far?

Devin has gone quiet. I think living in Anna's memories takes its toll, but I'm sure he'll start talking again soon.

Have you read Distorted Hope? If so, please leave a review on Amazon! If not...well, why not? :-)

Depression

I know I've been quiet the last few days. Many of you know that I struggle with depression. Although it didn't get quite so deep this time, it still came. And when that happens, there's not much I can do except ride it out. I know it will get better. I've finally learned not to make decisions while in that state. I just let my body do what it needs to do to get through it, which generally consists of sleeping and staring at the TV all day.

I'm very fortunate that my fiance understands my struggle and always seems to know what I need. He reminds me that it's ok to "do nothing," which, for my task-oriented self, is very important to hear.

I also am very fortunate to have friends on Facebook that understand my struggle. I simply post that I'm having a rough day, and instantly, I have countless posts of support. Those mean so much to me.

Did you know that many great artists, writers and painters alike, have struggled with mental illness? I have wondered in the past if it's part of what makes it possible to create. Hemmingway, Van Gogh, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Pablo Picasso, Cole Porter, Tolstoy, Tennessee Williams, and countless other "greats" reportedly all struggled with the stuff. I'm not saying I'm even close to being as talented as these folks, but if they did what they did, while (or because of) struggling, then I am in good company.

Updates

I hope y'all are enjoying Distorted Hope. Feedback has been mostly positive, so I'm pretty happy. :)

Life has gotten pretty crazy around here, with school starting up again (I homeschool my little ones) and my fiance moving in with his two kids. But I'm very happy and looking forward to getting married very soon...as soon as we find a weekend to do so. LOL.

In case you haven't heard, I've begun work on a book about Devin: his backstory and how he turned into the man we all love to hate in Anna's story. This in turn will also lead into Talia's story, which takes place about 10 years after The Life of Anna. (or at least that's what I have in mind right now. Timelines might change...who knows. My characters don't always listen to me.)

If you have anything in particular that you'd like to learn about Devin, please email me and I will ask him about it...he's not always forthcoming about things, but I'm hopeful his younger self will be less secretive.

I will write Devin's story as I can, but can't make any promises as to when I'll be done. Hopefully sooner than later.
