Social Media Break

I'm taking a few months off from social media.

After Amazon banned my books, it brought me to a place of some deep soul searching. It made me think. A lot. And the only thing I'm certain of at this point is that I need some more time to think things through. But in order to do that, I need to get away from the many distractions that get to me every day. So, I'm stepping away from Facebook, Twitter, and my other social media accounts for a few months while I figure things out.

Enslaved Banned!!!

After almost four years, and more than 56,000 downloads, Enslaved has been banned from Amazon.

I'm not sure why, because Amazon is not transparent when they do things like this. They just refer you to some vague guideline that gives no helpful information. Several fellow authors have suggested that someone must have complained about it. How else would they be looking at a four-year-old book? Perhaps I should be honored that it was worth their time to complain?

I was planning on pulling Enslaved from Kindle Unlimited next month anyway to make it available at all retailers. I guess I get to do this early.

I'm a bit in shock at this and still trying to get my head wrapped around it. I'm overwhelmed by the love and support shown to me in the Facebook world.

We'll make it through this. I'm not freaking out... Trying to see it as an opportunity instead of a setback. If nothing else, controversy breeds free publicity, right?

The Complete Story is still for sale. I've published Enslaved through Draft2Digital to make it available at iBooks, Nook, Kobo, and other retailers.

I have a suspicion as to what might have been offensive, though it does show that not everyone is a careful reader. Thank God they didn't read the rest of the story, right? They would have DIED of HORROR had they read what happened to Anna in Book 4!

I will make adjustments to those parts (in the prologue) and resubmit to Amazon. So, Amazon will have an adjusted prologue, but the rest will remain the same...at least that's my plan.

Sabrina woke next to a man, her head on his bare chest and his arm around her. Without thinking, she trailed her hand down his flat stomach and onto his morning-hard cock. She stroked it a few times over his pants, then slipped under the waistband to feel his silken skin.

As she stroked him, she wondered who she was in bed with. It wasn’t Ramon. It also wasn’t unusual to not know who she was waking up with. It happened plenty of times, and she knew what was expected of her.

Abandoned Grace was published last year as a side story to The Life of Anna.

Marissa stays busy running her household, fending off two adorable kittens, and interacting with her readers on social media. New Cover for Master of My Body

Hello Loyal Readers!

I have two pieces of exciting news I wanted to share with you.

First of all, as you already know, Master of My Heart, Finding Sabrina Part 2, is coming out at the end of May. As I was writing and rewriting the book, I came to realize that the beautiful cover I was using really didn't go along with the theme of the story. About that time, I learned that Adobe Stock Photos are not allowed to be used on the cover of romance novels (for some dumb reason). So because of those two things, I've been working with my cover designer to rework my covers and give them a new, more appropriate, dark feel to them.

We just finished the new cover for Master of My Body today and I'm so excited to share it with you here. 

I've also rewritten the blurb, to give it a darker, more suspenseful feel.

I'll be remaking my paperbacks shortly, and if you've already purchased one with the old cover, I will sell you a new one at my cost, plus shipping. When you order the new one, just make sure to leave a note (or message me) that you bought the book previously and I will include the discount price.

My other piece of news is that I will be moving Master of My Body to distribute to all ebook venues, including iBooks, Kobo, and Nook. Update on Master of My Heart

I'm thrilled to let you guys know that I've finished the first draft of rewrites of Master of My Heart and have moved into the editing stage. It's running a little over 130k words at the moment, so the editing will take a bit of time since I want to do it right. I'm hoping to have it published (at the latest) by the beginning of summer.
